As a Junior Credit Controller, you report to the Team Leader Risk Management, and you are responsible for the entire debtors' portfolio . You ensure that customers pay the bills on time . You also take care of sending reminders and interest notes, resolving disputes, collecting receivables, applying for credit limits and keeping the customer database up to date. You'll need to be firm and organized to work as a credit controller. Furthermore, you will need to have/find the perfect balance between social skills / empathic ability and certain persuasiveness. Besides this you'll need to be calm and confident to handle potentially uncomfortable conversations.

What you can expect:

  • Supervise credit limits and escalates if necessary;
  • Sign and initiate procedures in the ​​ Credit Control area;
  • Maintaining general ledger accounts;
  • Reconciliation of sub-ledgers;
  • Processing incoming emails;
  • Answer customer questions regarding billing;
  • Carry out the suspension of service in case of non-payment;
  • Maintain contacts with the debt collection agency;
  • Create all month-end reporting's;
  • Daily communication with the accounting department;
  • All other reasonable administrative duties related to the credit control function, including filing and archiving.


Your profile:

  • Extensive communication and administrative skills and a high level of commitment.
  • Flexible, stress resistant, accurate, proactive, customer-focused and results-oriented;
  • I ndependent but also a team-player and likes working in a small team;
  • Numerical and a strong analytical ability;
  • Accurate and efficient ;
  • Able to work with tight deadlines;
  • Able to work with strict KPI's
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in Dutch and good written and verbal communication in English. Any additional market-specific language e.g. French is desirable;
  • Strong Computer Skills: excellent knowledge of MS office in particular Excel;
  • SAP knowledge is a plus and otherwise be able to master serval systems quickly;
  • Living nearby Amsterdam (within a radius of 30 km).
  • MBO+ degree in a suitable qualification and a good work and thinking level supplemented with subject-specific courses;
  • General Credit control experience from a similar position (in Retail is a plus) for at least 2 years;
